Hello world!
I’m Ray, a researcher and designer at MIT who is passionate about bridging technology, sustainability, and society through interdisciplinary design.
Profile
Zhi-Ray Wang is a researcher and designer based in Cambridge, MA. He holds a dual Master of Science from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (S.M.EECS) and Architecture Studies (S.M.ArchS). Currently, as a Researcher in the HCI Engineering Group at MIT CSAIL, Ray explores the intersection between sustainable fabrication, design optimization, and human-AI interfaces to reshape the future of the built environment.
Before joining MIT, he was a registered architect and sustainability researcher from Taiwan. With over a decade of design experience, he has worked on a diverse range of typologies—from high-end hospitality and residential projects to mission-critical facilities. His work spans Asia, Europe, and the U.S., ultimately expanding beyond Earth to investigate the intersection of architecture, technology, and extreme environments.
