Alvar Aalto Workshop
Year: 2014 Type: Case Study Location: Tainan, Taiwan Category: Workshop Organizer: Aalvar Aalto University Role: Model Maker
For a week-long workshop, each group is responsible for studying a classic house designed by Aalto and completing both a detail model and a 1: 100 configuration model based on the actual material, color, opening, atmosphere, size of the house. In the Maison Carre 'study, we represented the beautiful profile of suspended ceilings with a 1:30 section model, and the transparent gallery and living space.`
In Aalto’s works, from architecture design to furniture design are often completed together, so the actual size of furniture and decoration is also a major challenge for modelling. In addition, we have also participated in a series of forums on Aalto and Nordic modernism. It is the first time to understand the development of contemporary architectural history from the perspective apart from the Bauhaus.
